DON'TNEEDRETRAINING: AMixture of DETR and Vision Foundation Models for Cross-Domain Few-Shot Object Detection
Cross-Domain Few-Shot Object Detection (CD-FSOD) aims to generalize to unseen domains by leveraging a few annotated samples of the target domain, requiring models to exhibit both strong generalization and localization capabilities. However, existing well-trained detectors typically have strong localization capabilities but suffer from limited generalization, whereas vision foundation models (VFMs) generally exhibit better generalization but lack accurate localization capabilities. In this paper, we propose a novel Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) structure that integrates the detector's localization capability and the VFM's generalization by using VFM features to improve detector features. Specifically, we propose Expert-wise Router (ER) that dynamically selects the most relevant VFM experts for each backbone layer, and Region-wise Router (RR) that emphasizes foreground and suppress background. To bridge representation gaps, we further propose Shared Expert Projection (SEP) module and Private Expert Projection (PEP) module, which align VFM features to the detector feature space while decoupling shared image feature from private image feature in the VFM feature map. Finally, we construct MoE module to transfer the VFM's generalization to the detector without modifying the original detector architecture. Furthermore, our method extend well-trained detectors for detecting novel classes in unseen domains without re-training on the base classes.
Connecting Neural Models Latent Geometries with Relative Geodesic Representations
Neural models learn representations of high-dimensional data on low-dimensional manifolds. Multiple factors, including stochasticities in the training process, model architectures, and additional inductive biases, may induce different representations, even when learning the same task on the same data. However, it has recently been shown that when a latent structure is shared between distinct latent spaces, relative distances between representations can be preserved, up to distortions. Building on this idea, we demonstrate that exploiting the differential-geometric structure of latent spaces of neural models, it is possible to capture precisely the transformations between representational spaces trained on similar data distributions. Specifically, we assume that distinct neural models parametrize approximately the same underlying manifold, and introduce a representation based on the pullback metric that captures the intrinsic structure of the latent space, while scaling efficiently to large models.
Vision Foundation Models as Effective Visual for Generation
In this work, we present a novel direction to build an image tokenizer directly on top of a frozen vision foundation model, which is a largely underexplored area. Specifically, we employ a frozen vision foundation model as the encoder of our tokenizer. To enhance its effectiveness, we introduce two key components: (1) a region-adaptive quantization framework that reduces redundancy in the pre-trained features on regular 2D grids, and (2) a semantic reconstruction objective that aligns the tokenizer's outputs with the foundation model's representations to preserve semantic fidelity. Based on these designs, our proposed image tokenizer, VFMTok, achieves substantial improvements in image reconstruction and generation quality, while also enhancing token efficiency. It further boosts autoregressive (AR) generation--achieving a gFID of 1.36 on ImageNet benchmarks, while accelerating model convergence by three times, and enabling high-fidelity class-conditional synthesis without the need for classifier-free guidance (CFG). VESSA: Video-based objEct-centric Self-Supervised Adaptation for Visual Foundation Models
Foundation models have advanced computer vision by enabling strong performance across diverse tasks through large-scale pretraining and supervised finetuning. However, they may underperform in domains with distribution shifts and scarce labels, where supervised fine-tuning may be infeasible. While continued self-supervised learning for model adaptation is common for generative language models, this strategy has not proven effective for vision-centric encoder models. To address this challenge, we introduce a novel formulation of self-supervised fine-tuning for vision foundation models, where the model is adapted to a new domain without requiring annotations, leveraging only short multi-view objectcentric videos. Our method is referred to as VESSA: Video-based objEct-centric Self-Supervised Adaptation for visual foundation models. VESSA's training technique is based on a self-distillation paradigm, where it is critical to carefully tune prediction heads and deploy parameter-efficient adaptation techniques - otherwise, the model may quickly forget its pretrained knowledge and reach a degraded state. VESSA benefits significantly from multi-view object observations sourced from different frames in an object-centric video, efficiently learning robustness to varied capture conditions, without the need of annotations. Through comprehensive experiments with 3 vision foundation models on 2 datasets, VESSA demonstrates consistent improvements in downstream classification tasks, compared to the base models and previous adaptation methods.

OpenBox: Annotate Any Bounding Boxes in 3D
Unsupervised and open-vocabulary 3D object detection has recently gained attention, particularly in autonomous driving, where reducing annotation costs and recognizing unseen objects are critical for both safety and scalability. However, most existing approaches uniformly annotate 3D bounding boxes, ignore objects' physical states, and require multiple self-training iterations for annotation refinement, resulting in suboptimal quality and substantial computational overhead. To address these challenges, we propose OpenBox, a two-stage automatic annotation pipeline that leverages a 2D vision foundation model. In the first stage, OpenBox associates instance-level cues from 2D images processed by a vision foundation model with the corresponding 3D point clouds via context-aware refinement. In the second stage, it categorizes instances by rigidity and motion state, then generates adaptive bounding boxes with class-specific size statistics. As a result, OpenBox produces high-quality 3D bounding box annotations without requiring self-training. Experiments on the Waymo Open Dataset (WOD), the Lyft Level 5 Perception dataset, and the nuScenes dataset demonstrate improved accuracy and efficiency over baselines.
